ISPA MEMBERS OFFER SUMMER SPECIALS AND AT-HOME RELAXATION TIPS FOR TEACHERS
Lexington, Ky. – Who deserves a spa break more than a teacher? In an effort to acknowledge teachers’ vast contributions to children, humanity and society as a whole, several ISPA members are offering relaxation tips, treatments and packages designed for the nation’s three-million teachers.
“The No. 1 reason that people go to spas is to relieve stress and relax. And, there’s no doubt that stress and tension are common challenges for teachers,” said ISPA President Lynne Walker McNees. “Teachers are tremendously deserving of time to relax, reflect, revitalize and rejoice, and ISPA members are happy to provide that environment.”
With more than 2,500 members in 73 countries, below are examples of ISPA members’ offerings for teachers this summer, as well as year around:
- To show their appreciation for teachers, the Pointe South Mountain Resort in
Ariz. will offer a $99 per night special (Sun. through Thurs.) during the summer. This special rate is available to teachers who show a valid educator’s ID at check-in. During their stay, teachers can also relax with a 50-minute “A is for Apple, B is Beautiful Facial” at the resort’s Phantom Horse Spa. - Each year during “Teacher Appreciation Week,” Iatria Day Spa in N.C. provides complimentary in-school chair massages, distributes $5,000 worth of free gift certificates to teachers and demonstrates stretches that can be done at home to help relieve neck stiffness.
- Tea Garden Springs in Calif. offers teachers a 10 percent discount every summer on their Anti-Stress Body Treatment. Teachers can relax with a 15-minute steam, followed by a dry body brushing and massage. A body wrap, scalp treatment and foot reflexology round out the treatment.
