November 15, 2023 – ISPA’s dear friend and colleague, Bernard “Bernie” Burt, was laid to rest at Quantico National Cemetery earlier this week at the dear age of 95. Bernie was truly a spa industry pioneer and played an integral role in forming ISPA (known then as the International Spa and Fitness Association). He served as the first ISPA Executive Director in 1991 and was a founding board member. Bernie also brought Pulse magazine to life as its original editor. He was a true leader and will be deeply missed. A more detailed tribute will be shared in a future issue of Pulse. Please keep his family in your thoughts and join us as we celebrate the extraordinarily meaningful contributions he made within our industry.
