The International SPA Association will hold its inaugural ISPA Talent Symposium April 15 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bacara in Santa Barbara, CA. This event will be a first of its kind for the spa industry and focus solely on workforce issues.
Engaging one’s team is key to attracting and retaining employees in today’s competitive labor market, and the new ISPA Talent Symposium will highlight energetic and innovative approaches to solving workforce challenges. In addition to insight from established spa industry and workforce development professionals, the event will feature keynote speakers providing high-impact takeaways attendees can use to build an engaged workforce.
Seth Mattison will be the first keynote speaker for the event. As the founder and CEO of Luminate Labs (a digital media platform, production company and global community for luminaries, leaders, influences and subject-matter experts representing the most forward-thinking organizations in the world), Mattison advises leaders on key shifts happening around talent management, change and innovation, leadership and the future of work. His goal is “to help facilitate a shift in consciousness around what work and leadership will mean in the 21st Century and the role individuals can play in intentionally leading organizations and legacies that bring deep value to the world.” To learn more about Mattison, check out the ISPA Blog post on him here.
In the afternoon, keynote speaker Smiley Poswolsky will lead attendees through a discussion on the multigenerational workplace. Smiley is an expert on multigenerational communication styles and bestselling author of The Quarter-Life Breakthrough and The Breakthrough Speaker. His TEDx talk has over a million views and he has done hundreds of speaking engagements, reaching over 50,000 people in 15 countries. Learn more about Smiley from ISPA's announcement press release.
The day prior to the ISPA Talent Symposium, a half-day Resource Partner Summit will take place that will focus exclusively on the issues that matter to ISPA’s valued resource partner members, such as the rise of online retailing, how to capture the attention of spa decision-makers and more. The Resource Partner Summit is only open to ISPA vendor members.
