ISPA Foundation Adopts Research-Focused Name
The International SPA Association (ISPA) Foundation, the 501(c)(3) arm of ISPA established in 1999, has officially been renamed the ISPA Research Foundation. The name change underscores the Foundation’s central role in advancing credible, data-driven insights that support and strengthen the U.S. spa industry.
“For more than 25 years, the ISPA Foundation has helped tell the spa industry’s story through credible research,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “The name change reinforces the value of trusted data that supports sound decision-making across our spa community.”
The announcement coincides with the launch of the 2026 ISPA U.S. Spa Industry Study survey, which entered the field this week. Since its inception, the Foundation has supported the industry’s most definitive consumer and industry research, informing business decisions, tracking emerging shifts and helping to elevate the spa profession nationwide.
Funds raised by the ISPA Research Foundation primarily support industry and consumer research, including the studies housed in the ISPA Research Library, which is accessible to all ISPA members and consistently ranks as the most valued member benefit. The Foundation also provides funding for select educational resources, delivered through ISPA’s iLearn platform, further supporting professional development across the spa community.
In support of these efforts, the ISPA Research Foundation Auction is currently open for donations and will take place in conjunction with the 2026 ISPA Conference, March 31–April 2. Proceeds from the auction directly benefit the Foundation’s research initiatives, with donors graciously making a lasting impact on the future of the spa industry.
