ISPA Conference & Expo Honors Mary Bemis as Dedicated Contributor

The International SPA Association (ISPA), announces Mary Bemis will receive the ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award, to be given at the 23rd annual ISPA Conference & Expo to be held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev. from Oct. 21-23, 2013.

“Mary is a true spa advocate. Her mission is to educate the consumer about healthy lifestyle choices,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “She is a major voice in the spa industry.”

As a founder of the Washington Spa Alliance, Bemis is a pioneer in the green spa and beauty movement. She is a founder of American Spa magazine and is also the co-editor of the book, Nature Through Her Eyes: Art & Literature by Women.

A contributor to many consumer and business magazines, her work has appeared in numerous national and international publications. Bemis has served on the editorial advisory boards of Shape and Spirituality & Health magazines and currently serves on the advisory committee of the Balneology Association of North America and on the board of the Advanced Spa Therapy Education Certification Council. She is a past director of ISPA and the New York Spa Alliance.

The ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award is given to an active ISPA member who has contributed significantly to the growth of the association. The recipient will have demonstrated leadership and commitment to ISPA and has extensively assisted in the promotion of the association, as well as its mission and vision.
