International SPA Association Event to Provide Education & Networking in India

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Spa professionals will be meeting at the inaugural ISPA Regional Event in India, held at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach on April 8-9, 2010 in Mumbai. The event will bring together spa industry professionals of all levels to develop business solutions in an interactive setting. Topics that will be addressed include global best practices, systems of operation, staff training and retention and spa development.

“ISPA is a global organization and we are eager to expand our membership in India, a country that has a deep-rooted connection to spa culture,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “This is an exciting opportunity to help educate India’s spa professionals on the benefits of ISPA membership, which include research, networking and business tools, as well as fostering relationships between spas in the Indian spa market.”

Several notable spa industry leaders will be making presentations at the event:

  • ISPA Board Member and Serena Spa Pvt. Ltd. Managing Director Jesper Hougaard will give an update on the Indian spa industry. Hougaard has first hand experience in navigating the booming growth of the Indian spa industry. His presentation will address ways to sustain the growth of the industry, quality standards, financial performance and accreditation standards.
  • Former ISPA Chairman and Segerberg Spa Consulting, LLC President Jane Segerberg will be on hand at the event presenting a lecture titled What Successful Spas Do That Others Don’t. This presentation will address creating a pleasant and consistent guest experience by utilizing ISPA’s Global Best Practices, as well as ways to improve operations, profitability and sustainable business results.
  • ISPA Vice Chairman and Sedona Resorts Director of Spa Development and Operations Deborah Waldvogel will be speaking on employment in her presentation, Creating a Spa Culture for Success. This session is all about spa employees – training, retaining and motivating them to ensure their growth and success.
  • ·The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), Quality Council of India will present at a reception, open to the press, held Thursday, April 8 from 5:15-6:45 p.m. The NABH works to set benchmarks for the health care industry.
