Body-Mind Counseling

A general term meaning a range of practices which combine bodywork and verbal dialogue together. Is usually a less formal treatment than psychotherapy, and may also encompass advice about diet or lifestyle issues.

Body Contour

A series of exercises which tone various parts of the body such as buttocks and abdomen, while increasing flexibility as well.

Asanas

Anaerobic

The opposite of aerobic, anaerobic applies to exercises or movements that do not require blood circulation or delivery of oxygen to the muscles, as in weight lifting and bodybuilding.

Affirmation

This technique is used to overcome physical ailments and emotional problems by repeating a positive statement, similar to the therapy of visualization.

Virechana

In Ayurveda, one of the five steps of panchakarma in which castor oil or other laxatives are administered to induce purgation after being on an empty stomach.

Swedena

An ayurvedic steam treatment which induces sweat with the held of steam generated from medicated herbal decoctions.

Sea/Thallasotherapy Bathing And Treatments

Exposure to seawater or application of sea products to the body for health or beauty benefits.

Nasya

An intranasal plug of herbs used in ayurvedic medicine to eliminate ama.

Balneotherapy

A therapy in which natural substances including hot-spring water, natural gases, muds, as well as various climatic elements of the spa station are utilized for medical therapeutic purposes, such as improved circulation, stress management and pain relief.
