You’ll leave the General Session with the strategies you need to engage with—and retain—your team’s introverts and how to structure your team so that the best ideas succeed regardless of whether they come from an introvert or extravert.

2019 ISPA Dedicated Contributor Award Recipient: Bryan Williams

A favorite of ISPA members worldwide, Marcus Buckingham returns to the ISPA Conference & Expo for the Thursday General Session. The English-born Buckingham is a dynamic speaker and a pioneer of strengthsbased workplace assessments. His most recent book, Nine Lies About Work, reveals the surprising truth of how people—including spa professionals—actually work.

2019 ISPA Visionary Award Recipient: Jeremy McCarthy

Make the impossible possible with Mick Ebeling, the California-based designer, animator and innovator behind Not Impossible Labs, a technology incubator. Over the past ten years, Ebeling has empowered paralyzed artists to draw again, 3D-printed prosthetic arms for Sudanese refugees and helped the deaf hear music. You’ll leave the final keynote address uplifted and inspired to tackle your own “impossible” challenges.

2019 ISPA Alex Szekely Humanitarian Award: Mick Ebeling

The First-Timer’s Orientation to ISPA, available to first-time ISPA Conference & Expo attendees, is your ticket to a crash course on how to maximize your three days of learning, sourcing, networking and evolving. Members of the ISPA Volunteer Committee will share their advice, offer insider tips and let you know what you can’t afford to miss. The First-Timer’s Orientation is also a great opportunity to get to know other attendees.

Suspense. Luxury. Lawrence Biscontini. And it’s all in the name of charity.

The ISPA Foundation Live and Silent Auctions, supporting the industry-leading research and scholarships provided by the ISPA Foundation, feature an incredible slate of items up for bid this year, from local original artwork to extended stays at the world’s premier spas.

Once the Silent Auctions close at 5 pm on Conference’s second day, the Live Auction—featuring Lawrence Biscontini and a cash bar—kicks off. It’s an event you won’t want to miss! You’ll find this year’s Live and Silent Auctions in THE HUB.

NEW FOR 2019

The Spa Workforce Super Session

ISPA members worldwide have told us that their biggest challenge is finding qualified talent at both the management and service provider levels, as well as retaining the talent that they already have. With that in mind, this year features ISPA’s first-ever pre-Conference Super Session.

Equip yourself with the knowledge and tools you need to hire, engage and retain a remarkable spa workforce at this two-and-a-half hour education session featuring Dr. Bryan Williams. Several speakers will lead education, activities and discussion on how to improve your hiring process, onboard new staff and create an environment for your current staff to thrive. Industry veterans with a proven track record of success will share their success stories, and the session will end with a dedicated period for creating a plan of action for you to leave Conference with.

Admission to the Super Session is complimentary with full-Conference registration, but you must RSVP to attend. The RSVP form is included as part of the online Conference registration process. September 11, 6:30 - 9 pm | TAO Beach

You say goodbye, I say hello.

Say au revoir to the Farewell Party and get ready for the first-ever Welcome Party. Inspired by member feedback, the Welcome Party will be hosted by TAO Beach at The Venetian Resort. At this fun, casual event, you can mix and mingle with fellow Conference attendees and do some after-hours networking with connections from across our industry.

You’ll find a little bit of everything at TAO Beach, too. Want to party under the setting sun? There will be a live DJ and sizable dance area. Looking to relax? Enjoy one of seven cabanas, including two sponsored by Eminence Organic Skin Care and Groupon. Caught up in a conversation? TAO Beach is an intimate outdoor space with plenty of quiet nooks for conversation.

Admission is included with a full-Conference registration.

Commemorate the connections you’ll make with an Insta post! There will be a photo booth and props available for pictures, and don’t forget to caption your post with #ISPA2019. Then, sit back and watch the ‘likes’ roll in.

Asian cuisine—served buffet-style—will be available to Welcome Party attendees, and every entrant will receive one drink ticket to use at the bar.

Attire will be smart casual, and keep in mind that Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for being chilly: shorts, dresses, capris and sandals are all fine options to beat the Vegas heat.

  1. An extra bag: One word, two syllables: samples. Between ISPA’s famed Room Drops, items included in the Registration Bag and samples given out on the Expo Floor, you’ll likely be heading back with more than you came with. An extra bag, like a duffle you can store in your bag on the flight to Vegas, will come in handy.
  2. Practical shoes: Hey, we all like looking good, and yes, those shoes are very cute. But you know what aren’t cute? Blisters. Be kind to your future self and bring a good, dependable pair of comfortable shoes that you can easily switch to throughout the day. Your feet will thank you.
  3. Your I.D.: You’ll be required to have your I.D. (such as a driver’s license or a passport) on you to be admitted to the Welcome Party on the first night of conference. Don’t leave your room without it!

  1. A bathing suit: The Welcome Party may be taking place at TAO Beach, but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to a sun-and-swim affair. Attire for the event is smart casual, and there won’t be any swimming. You know that game where kids pretend the ground is lava? Well, the pool is lava.
  2. Moisturizer: I know, I know: we all work in spa and moisturizers are our best friends. But you’ll be at a spa conference—before you even realize your hands are dry you’ll have a dozen different moisturizers to try out. And besides, isn’t test-driving new products half the fun?
