The ISPA Foundation Receives Research Donation From Red Door Spas

November 14, 2011

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The International SPA Association Foundation is pleased to announce that Red Door Spas, a national day and resort spa operator, has donated $10,000 towards the research initiatives of the ISPA Foundation. The donation has been contributed in order to support new consumer research for the spa industry.

“The ISPA Foundation is dedicated to continually providing research initiatives, like the consumer study, which are vital to the growth and success of the spa industry,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees. “The research will give us insight into spa-goers and non-spa-goers perceptions of the spa, and address important questions dealing with stress.”

The new study, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers, will reveal data on consumer’s thoughts and preferences. These key elements are essential for spas while planning out treatment menus and developing new offerings. Consumer research not only provides insight into spa-goer trends, but also reveals how non-spa-goers are behaving. The study will shed light on why non-spa-goers aren’t visiting the spa, if they’ve ever considered visiting a spa and what misconceptions they may have about the spa.

“As the leading North American day spa operator and globally recognized spa brand, Red Door Spas is proud to support the ISPA Foundation and their research efforts in advancing the spa industry, promoting creativity and innovation within the space and enhancing the spa experience for both professionals and consumers through interactive education and training,” said Todd Walter, CEO of Red Door Spa Holdings. “We have seen tremendous growth and opportunity in the field and look forward to an active partnership with the ISPA Foundation to help strengthen the industry’s professional network and increase awareness about the healing benefits of spa treatments for optimal health and wellness.”

More information regarding the progress of the consumer research will be available during the 2011 ISPA Conference & Expo, held November 7-9 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nev. ISPA has released groundbreaking studies and research tools since the early 1990s. To learn more about ISPA’s research and business tools, visit experienceispa.com.
