ISPA Foundation’s 2011 Dr. Mary Tabacchi Scholarship Applications Now Available

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The International SPA Association Foundation is pleased to announce that students may begin submitting applications for the Dr. Mary Tabacchi Scholarship. The scholarship, created in 2006, is named in honor of industry pioneer and Cornell University Associate Professor Mary H. Tabacchi, Ph.D., R.D. Students interested in a career in spa management are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted through March 18, 2011.

“Providing the next generation of spa industry professionals with opportunities, like the Mary Tabacchi Scholarship, are vital to sustaining the future of our industry,” said ISPA Foundation President Jeff Kohl. “With the scholarship and the newly released textbook Financial Management for Spas the ISPA Foundation is dedicated to providing the spa industry with valuable resources.”

Dr. Tabacchi added, “It is my belief that carefully chosen recipients of this scholarship will become national and international leaders in the mind/body/spirit spa community. The scholarship is one of Foundation’s most important endeavors.”

The scholarship recipient will receive $2,500 towards their education. Students may access the application online. A selection committee will review the applications based on a set of eligibility criteria.
