ISPA cancels April Talent Symposium and Resource Partner Summit due to COVID-19

March 9, 2020

After closely monitoring the evolving activity around COVID-19, the International SPA Association (ISPA) has decided to cancel the April ISPA Talent Symposium and Resource Partner Summit, which was to be held in Santa Barbara, CA.

The increasing number of travel restrictions implemented by member organizations and the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in California, which is currently under a declared State of Emergency, led to the unfortunate decision to cancel. ISPA values the health and safety of its attendees, sponsors, speakers and staff.

The event, which was set for April 14-15 at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara, will not be rescheduled; however, ISPA is developing a plan to deliver the Talent Symposium’s key messages and resources tied to workforce challenges at the 2020 ISPA Conference & Expo, which will be held October 14-16 at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, MD. ISPA’s top priority remains helping members recruit, retain and engage talent. Additional details will be provided in the coming weeks.

“While we are tremendously disappointed to cancel the inaugural ISPA Talent Symposium and Resource Partner Summit, the health and safety of our attendees remain our highest priority,” said ISPA President, Lynne McNees. “We will continue to identify innovative ways to help our members create successful talent strategies leading up to the ISPA Conference & Expo in October.”

ISPA will celebrate its 30th anniversary at the 2020 ISPA Conference & Expo. Additional information on the event can be found on attendispa.com.
