Body Language Speaks: ISPA’s Opening Keynote Speaker Announced

February 2, 2017

The International SPA Association (ISPA) welcomes social psychologist Amy Cuddy as the opening keynote speaker for the 2017 ISPA Conference & Expo at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. from October 16 – 18, 2017.

“Amy Cuddy’s opening keynote presentation and her contagious passion for educating others will bring this year’s Conference theme, IGNITE, to life. Her game-changing remarks will impact how we embrace the act of being present and understand the power of our nonverbal behaviors within both our personal and professional lives,” said ISPA President Lynne McNees.

The 27th annual event will kick off with Cuddy, who is not only a social psychologist, but a professor at Harvard Business School and Harvard School of Public Health, New York Times best-selling author, and Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum. Cuddy’s presentation focuses on the power of nonverbal behavior, prejudice and stereotyping, the delicate balance of trustworthiness and strength, and the ways in which people can affect their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She teaches people how to become more present, influential, and satisfied in their professional and personal lives.

Cuddy’s 2012 TED Talk, “Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are,” has been viewed more than 35 million times and is the second-most-viewed TED Talk of all time. The Guardian calls it one of 20 online talks that could change your life. Amy has written for the New York Times, New York magazine, Harvard Business Review and CNN.

The second day and closing keynote speakers will be announced at a later date. More information about attending the 2017 ISPA Conference & Expo can be found at attendISPA.com.
