Job Description

The Spa Director (SD) is responsible for all aspects of a luxury Hotel/Resort spa, ranging from budgeting, financial and service level performance, service programs, and day-to-day operations. The SD is directly responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and spa operations at an optimal level in a four star environment, along with delivering the financial objective of the business unit. Responsibilities: - Spa Operations/Inventory Management - Overall responsibility for driving revenues and managing the bottom line. - Establish spa staffing levels. - Identifies, recruits, and hires all spa personnel. - Oversees all spa and operations managers. - Ability to work with Resort Management to build a strong relationship and a seamless guest service experience. - Attends weekly Resort management meetings. - Develop and implement spa related marketing strategies, collateral, and promotional activities in conjunction with the Resort marketing team. - Drive spa group sales by working with the Resort sales team and local area event planners. - Maintain inventory levels by ensuring proper stock levels on retail and professional on hand and in rooms. - Conducts daily treatment room checklist inspection noting inconsistencies and accuracies working alongside the Assistant Spa Director (ASD) and/or Spa Manager. - Cleanliness and maintenance must be held at the highest standards. - Ensure that all spa equipment operates at optimum performance. - Initiate and control product inventory and cycle counts. Staffing/Training: - Adhere to and promote Corporate culture. - Assist in creating treatment protocols, training manuals, and training schedules alongside team leaders of each department. - Hire and train all technical staff on Corporate/brand/Resort standards. - Assist the ASD in training new staff on Corporate standards, software procedures, and customer service problem resolution techniques. - Prepares payroll and transmits to accounting. - Manage personnel under own supervision including hiring, guiding, directing, developing, training, counseling, disciplining and evaluating. - Provide leadership to all team leaders in each department. - Provides regular communication of company information, functions, benefits, events, etc with spa staff on a regular basis. - Conducts consistently (on monthly basis) mandatory staff meetings. Analyze/Reporting: - Responsible for creating and analyzing financial budgeting, forecasting, yield management reports for both the spa and the boutique. - Enter customer problems/issues in the access database. - Prepare monthly return to vendor reports. - On a daily basis prepare check-out/closing report. - Monitors staff to ensure quality, standards, and efficient, friendly service. - Prepare yearly staff retention reports. Customer Resolution: - Ensure that established service levels are consistently achieved in compliance with Resort standards and 4-star criteria. Guest service is expected to exceed and outperform all comp spas in the area. - Effectively deals with customers’ issues and complaints. - Monitor and document all customer complaints/issues by completing a customer complaint form. Job Requirements

Qualifications: - Minimum BS degree required, preferably in a relevant field (Hospitality, Business Management, Operations). - Candidate must be authorized to work in the US. - Must have minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Spa Manager. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Management role in 4 or 5 star property. Service industry in spa, retail, resort, or restaurant experience necessary. - Highly proficient at creation and management of P&L, forecasting, and budgets. - Must be a quick learner; accuracy, and attention to detail are critical. - Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure well, self-motivated and very detail oriented. - Must be polished, professional, and have a strong command of both written and verbal English. - Must have a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. - Must be organized, timely and detailed oriented. - Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office; Booker, Book4Time, Spa Soft preferred. - Must be reliable and have outstanding customer service skills. - Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks. - Possess strong leadership skills with prior track record of Supervisory experience of staff at all levels. - CPR and First Aid certified desirable.
