We are looking to hire a Spa Director (SD) for our newly renovated Spa at Vail Marriott Mountain Resort in beautiful Vail, Colorado. The ideal SD will have a luxury spa background having managed spas throughout their career. You are entrepreneurial-minded and will operate this business as your own. You will be responsible for all aspects of a luxury Resort spa ranging from budgeting, financial and service level performance, service programs, and day-to-day operations. The SD will be directly responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and spa operations at an optimal level in a four-star environment, along with delivering the financial objective of the business unit.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Establish spa staffing levels. Oversee all spa employees and operations managers. Manage personnel under own supervision including hiring, guiding, directing, developing, training, counseling, disciplining and evaluating. Work with Resort management to build a strong relationship and a seamless guest service experience. Attend weekly Resort management meetings. Implement spa related marketing strategies, collateral and promotional activities in conjunction with the Resort marketing teams. Drive spa group sales by working with the Resort sales teams and local area event planners. Prepare payroll and transmits to accounting. Responsible for analyzing financial budgeting, forecasting, yield management reports for both the spa and the boutique. Ensure that established service levels are consistently achieved in compliance with Resort standards and 4 star criteria. Guest service is expected to exceed and outperform all comp spas in the area. SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Management role in a 4 or 5 star property. Service industry in spa, retail, Resort, or restaurant experience necessary. Minimum BS degree required, preferably in a relevant field (hospitality, business management, operations). Possess strong positive leadership skills with prior track record of supervisory experience of staff at all levels. Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure well, self-motivated and very detail oriented. Must have strong financial acumen and advanced analytical abilities. Experience to include new spa openings preferable. Ability to carry out assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner Highly proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
