Spa Nalini, located within the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Cruz, scheduled to open later January of 2022, is their first property with a full-service spa including locker room amenities, massage and body treatments, facials and couple’s experiences. All massage therapist positions are part-time to begin. A massage therapist at Spa Nalini at the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Cruz will have an in-depth knowledge of a variety of massage modalities, along with at least three years of hands-on experience. The therapist should be able to perform Swedish and Deep Tissue modalities well, along with the openness to learn and perform other related massage therapies. The therapist will be paid an hourly rate along with a commission so when not performing services, will assist with some tasks within the facility. Spa Nalini will offer as much scheduling flexibility as possible; however, the facility will be open 365 days per year in the evenings and on weekends. Flexibility is important to the success of the facility.
-Valid California Massage Therapist License -At least three years hands-on massage therapy experience in a day spa or resort spa -Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology and different massage types - The ability to stand for extended periods of time - Patience, professionalism and respect for Spa guests - Exceptional customer service skills General Responsibilities: • Perform multiple types of massages and body treatments. • Maintain detailed records in the spa software of massages, treatments, and therapies performed on each spa guest. • Communicate with guests during massages to adjust massage techniques as required. • Resolve guest complaints and report any accidents to the Spa Manager & Director of HR. • Clean and sanitize work areas, changing treatment room sheets, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment before and after each use. • Follow all COVID19 related sterilization and sanitation requirements prior to each treatment in accordance with federal, state and local laws. • Explain massages, treatments, and therapies to guests and provide suitable recommendations as needed. • Ensure that the spa is adequately stocked with spa supplies and report shortages to the Spa Manager. • Enquire about guests' medical conditions and allergies before providing spa services. • Follow all policies and procedures outlined by Lotus Management Inc.
