Life in Balalnce Spa in Arizona is Miraval's signature spa sanctuary, inviting guests to pursue personal transitions in a soulful, natural setting with healing, soothing, and invigorating treatments from expert therapists. Our menu boasts 80+ different services, many that can only be enjoyed at a Miraval property and some using products specifically blended for Miraval.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Director of Spa to create and maintain a work environment that supports, encourages and anticipates the needs of the guest and colleague experience. This is done successfully by contributing to an environment that applauds authenticity, sincerity, warmth and fun, while balancing protocol, accountability and care. The Assistant Director of Spa is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the spa, including but not limited to working beside the 90+ team of spa front desk colleagues, locker attendants, spa coordinators, and spa service providers. The Assistant Director of Spa oversees the operation with a high level of focus and care placed on ensuring the guests expectations are met and that we are meeting our established high standard of service. Administratively the Assistant Director is responsible for scheduling, payroll, and product and supply management.

Job Requirements

Excellence in the successful management of the guest experiences Exceptional skills in leading a large SPA operations team and retail operation Proven track record in achieving retail sales to service goals, revenue goals and driving revenue per treatment goals Exceptional ability to perform complex administrative tasks using the Microsoft Office suite of products. (Excel,Word, Outlook and Powerpoint) Experience in managing the spa to achieve and exceed budgets, scheduling for efficiency managing expenses for maximum profit Experience in the successful completion and accounting of payroll including scheduling, managing time edits, commissions, and benefit pay Experience in hiring and retaining top talent. Interviewing talent at all levels of the operation, training, coaching, counselling, administering check-in conversation, supporting growth opportunities and advancement. Coaching and counselling corrective behavior for accountability, consistency while being collaborative, supportive and nurturing. Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must be results driven, goal oriented and able to meet deadlines. Must be available to work a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. 3+ years of experience working in a role titled as a Spa Manager, Assistant Spa Director or Spa Director- preferably in a Resort Spa setting Excellent written and oral communication skills including speaking to large groups of people, senior leadership, small group settings and one on one Ability to multi-task and prioritize items in a fast paced work environment
