LIVESPA TO DEBUT IN JUNE 2008

Tuesday, 06 May 2008

LEXINGTON, Ky. - With one out of four Americans having visited a spa, chances are that if you have not been to one, you know someone who has. Most people learn about spa etiquette from their friends and co-workers, which can lead to even more questions. So, let the International SPA Association be your "spa mentor" by providing the answers and helping you Live Happy. Live Healthy. LiveSpa.

Available in June, the debut issue of LiveSpa magazine and its accompanying Web site, www.livespamagazine.com, will focus on educating the spa consumer. "LiveSpa and the Web site will cover what to expect before, during and after a spa visit by focusing on real people with real questions," said ISPA President Lynne McNees. "As 57 million people will visit a spa this year, it's critical that quality education is available and ISPA is so proud to make it available through this new magazine and Web site."

LiveSpa Executive Editor Julie Wilson added, "Going to a spa is a practical solution for today's stressed-out society. With LiveSpa, we've gone behind the scenes to get the scoop from those in the know - spa directors, therapists, estheticians - and they share their secrets to an unforgettable spa experience."

Articles will include:

  • Through the Eyes of a First-time Spa-goer - a behind-the-scenes look at a newbie's spa experience
  • The Mindful Approach to Aging - (Hint: there's no "get young quick" scheme)
  • Organically Inclined - What does "pure" and "natural" mean anyway when it comes to skin and body care products?
  • Anatomy of a Treatment - What a consumer can expect from start to finish
LiveSpa will be available in June through ISPA's members as well as on http://www.livespamagazine.com/. The cost per issue is $10, or you can view the digital version at no cost. Readers may also search for ISPA member spas in their area or specific product manufactures by visiting the LiveSpa Web site.
