LEXINGTON, Ky. - The International SPA Association's International Spa & Wellness Conference and Exhibition, also known as ISPA Asia 2006, was recently named "Spa Event of the Year" by the Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards. A panel of 26 Asia-based spa experts made the nominations for the awards, which were announced on Nov. 17 as well as in the Nov./Dec. issue of AsiaSpa.
Held in May in Bangkok, Thailand, ISPA Asia 2006 included more than 200 exhibitors and drew 10,000 visitors from 15 countries. "We are proud that the annual ISPA International Spa & Wellness Conference and Exhibition has become the most prominent spa event in Asia," said Peter Sng, ISPA board member. "It is an honor for the event to be recognized. We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence next year in China."
ISPA President Lynne Walker McNees added, "ISPA's events are respected because of the opportunities for high-level education and networking. A key initiative for the association is to build on this successful foundation to further enrich the businesses of spa professionals worldwide."
The next ISPA event will take place in China's most cosmopolitan and modernized city - Shanghai. ISPA 2007 will be held at the Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center from June 7-9.
China's entry into the World Trade Organization has driven the movement of business toward the international market. Moreover, the ongoing preparation for the 2008 Olympics has triggered the citizens' interest in better lifestyles, engaging in various health and wellness programs that would contribute to their well-being. ISPA 2007 China will provide an impressive platform for all exhibitors to present their new technologies, products and services in this emerging enormous market.
