Who is Daniel Pink?

We previously introduced you to our opening day keynote presenter, Amy Cuddy. Now that you know all about Amy, we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Pink, our day two keynote presenter for the 2017 ISPA Conference & Expo. Without further ado, let’s learn a little bit more about him.

Who is Daniel Pink?

Daniel Pink is a best-selling author, professional speaker, behavior expert and business thinker. In his career, Daniel has looked at topics such as the art and science of sales, the behavioral science behind human motivation, the overall mental and social influences behind business, work, motivation, leadership and more.

Thinkers 50 named him one of the top 10 business thinkers in the world in 2016, and he has written five books on various business topic, including three New York Times best-sellers, “A Whole New Mind,” “Drive,” and, “To Sell is Human.”

Where might I have seen him before?

Daniel’s TED Talk, “The Puzzle of Motivation,” is one of ten most-watched TED Talks ever, with over 17 million views. In addition to this, Daniel is a contributing editor at Wired, a business columnist in the Sunday Telegraph, and has had articles have appeared in The NY Times, Harvard Business Review, Slate and other publications.

You may have also seen Daniel as the host of “Crowd Control,” a show on the National Geographic Channel. Using Daniel’s expertise, the show set up a series of practical experiments that attempted to change social behavior from the norm.

Daniel is also no stranger to podcasts. He has been a frequent guest on NPR’s “Hidden Brain” podcast hosted by Shankar Vedantam. The podcast uses science and storytelling to “reveal unconscious patterns that drive human behavior, biases that shape our choices and the triggers that direct the course of our relationships.”

How will his presentation help me?

As mentioned, Daniel’s expertise lies in the study of the mental and social sciences behind business, work, motivation, leadership and more.  You will leave his speech with a better understanding of how to motivate your team and yourself, how to reach people both internally and externally and how to be a more efficient leader overall.
