The 2016 ISPA Conference Recap

We are over a month removed from this year’s ISPA Conference & Expo, which has us feeling nostalgic here at ISPA Headquarters. So nostalgic, in fact, we decided to bring you a 2016 ISPA Conference recap! There were so many great moments at this year’s Conference, it would be impossible to include them all in one blog post, but we’re going to try.

General Session

We were blessed this year with three of the best keynote speakers in ISPA history: Brené Brown, John Ondrasik, and Simon Sinek. Brené taught us about courage, vulnerability and the importance of understanding that the two are not mutually exclusive. On the 2nd day of Conference, John gave us an inside look at songwriting and how the key element of storytelling applies to all of us as brands and individuals. In the final General Session, Simon detailed that we need to think less about “what” and more about “why” in life and especially as leaders.

This month’s Pulse, the Post-Conference edition, highlights each General Session keynote speaker in more detail. Simply click here to view these takeaways on pages 34-40.

Conference By the Numbers

2016 Conference Recap

This year’s Silent and Live Auctions were an enormous success, raising over $100,000 for the ISPA Foundation. There were several enticing items to bid on this year, from weekend getaways to signed memorabilia from the likes of Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson! In addition, we welcomed Lawrence Biscontini as our Auctioneer who did a tremendous job and we’d love to have him back again!

If you didn’t get your bids in at Conference, the ISPA Foundation Post Conference Online Auction is currently open and will run until November 14. Browse the catalog and bid on the auction here.

Of course, the Professional Development Sessions and the Expo itself were incredibly popular and well-attended as always. We cannot thank our speakers and exhibitors enough for dedicating their time and hard work to making this Conference possible each year and providing valuable knowledge and products to our attendees.

In addition, our sponsors were incredibly helpful in putting on the 2016 ISPA Conference & Expo.  We hope to see everyone again next year at Mandalay Bay. Mark your calendars for October 16 – October 18, 2017.  In the meantime, you can also check out the November issue of Pulse. It’s the post-Conference edition so it’s full of even more highlights from Conference. View this issue by clicking HERE.
