Primary responsibility is to directly assist the Spa Director in providing leadership, direction and supervision of staff in the daily operations of the Spa. This includes having the knowledge to coordinate guest relations as well as answer all inquiries pertaining to the spa. The Spa Manager will assist in budgeting, forecasting, payroll and scheduling, hiring as well as inventory control and ordering. Responsibilities: • Assists Spa Director in the daily operations of Spa • Acts in the absence of Spa Director • Maintains complete knowledge of spa and salon services and products • Thorough knowledge of Health Department and Sanitation Regulations; City Ordnances for Message Therapist and Department of Consumer Affairs – Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and federal, state and local laws governing employment • Evaluate measure and modify critical processes as needed with Spa Director; develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; listen and respond appropriately to their concerns • Supports leadership and is effective in coaching, development and counseling of spa team members • Assists in maintaining a competent and motivated team, creating a learning environment which maximizes productivity, skill development and spa team retention • Responsible for Performance evaluations and disciplinary procedures with the assistance of the Spa Director • Assist with hiring staff Requirements: • College degree or equivalent • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal • Proven leadership qualities; ability to work cohesively with all Spa areas & co-workers as part of a team • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision • Accounting and budgeting knowledge and follow budgetary guidelines • Has strong organization skills and is effective at working multiple priorities, working under stress and exercise good judgment with guest and employee situations and challenges • Ability to focus attention on details • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, will be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the spa • Must possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in spa management
