Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows is nestled on a white sandy beach on the Kohala Coast on the Island of Hawaii. The resort includes the luxurious Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, Mauna Lani Spa and the Francis H. I'i Brown Golf Courses. Accommodations The 318 guestrooms, 18 suites all feature a private lanai, desk & chairs, coffee table, couch, two phones, Wi-Fi, internet access, 47"- 60" LCD TV, personal bar, safe, double and king size beds, refrigerator, clock radio, make-up mirror, hair dryer, umbrella & bathrobe. Bungalows The Bungalows are secluded yet conveniently located within a minute's walk of the hotel. Privacy is maintained with a gated driveway and private access to the beach. Each bungalow features 4,000 sq ft of living space, including two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a private swimming pool and whirlpool spa. Mauna Lani Spa & Salon The garden area of the spa resembles a Hawaiian village with thatched hale for treatments -- two large enough for couples, one with a Vichy shower, two natural lava saunas, a meditation pavilion and a fragrance garden. Indoor area includes beauty and treatment rooms, locker rooms, steam showers, saunas and a retail boutique. A fill-service salon is also available. Mauna Lani Dining & Activities Mauna Lani offers a myriad of dining options and activities for the entire family. Dining venues include the Bay Terrace, poolside Ocean Bar & Grill, the Honu Bar and the oceanfront CanoeHouse featuring Hawaii Regional cuisine. Activities include catamaran sails, scuba, snorkeling, cycling, fitness, cultural classes and more.
The Nail Technician provides professional nail care services as per spa program, and is involved in the operation of the spa and guest service. The Nail Technician will provide specific services according to protocol for guests. The type of service provided will not be changed at the Nail Technician discretion without consent of the guest. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Detailed Work Activities: Advise clients or customers, apply creativity to art or design work,apply health or sanitation standards; clean rooms or work areas perform nail services according to instructions,follow customer instructions, schedule appointments, demonstrate goods or services; receive customer orders Tasks include: • Perform all nail care services as per spa/salon program, within the program time allowance. Be prompt with appointments, quality of work and attitudes with guests. Begin services on time, and perform all services within the time frame established.• Provide guests with consistent services even when booked by the hour or half hour, for up to an eight hour period. • Properly educate guests in regards to nail care and recommend appropriate products for each service given and other spa/salon services.• Lead by example and be an effective role model for guests.• Maintain daily care of all equipment used and refill needed supplies.• Assist with monthly inventory as needed.• Read and adhere to schedule postings in regards to shifts, station assignments, and the computer scheduling system.• Maintain a co-operative team attitude with co-workers, and Administer to the needs of guests with skill, proficiency and a pleasant demeanor.• Maintain a well stocked and clean treatment environment and retail area. Use product properly and abide by product control guidelines.• At no time will the solicitation of gratuities be tolerated.• Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisor.
Essential: • Current state manicurist license or cosmetology license. • Qualified to perform all aspects of nail care (standard manicures, french manicures, tips & wraps, nail repair, acrylic nail application/repair, pedicures, foot/hand massage, paraffin treatments) using current techniques. • Must display knowledge of current trends in nail care. • Minimum 3 years work experience as a Manicurist. • Retail sales experience of salon products. • Great guest service skills.• High school graduate minimum.• Ability to read memorandums, communication log and safety rules. Must be able to read, understand and apply directions to perform specialty treatments.• Personable and interested in health and wellness field. • Must possess good communication skills and make the guests feel comfortable during treatment.• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide basic problems and instructions presented for product usage.• Must be able to read schedules and use computer system.• Be able to lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds. Desirable: • Three years nail care experience.
