Job Description

As a General Manager at The Red Door, you will direct and manage day to day spa & salon operations to successfully achieve sales goals, business objectives and overall spa/salon profitability. Ideal candidate will project a professional image of what The Red Door represents in style, image, luxury and refined taste to employees and guests. We take care of people, and that includes our team! You will ensure a positive employee relation climate is maintained and employee-related issues are handled fairly and consistently. We love what we do! You will help ensure our team continues to provide impeccable guest service and expertise in their craft by motivating the staff and encouraging cooperation and teamwork. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Spa Operations Formulate and execute strategic plans to measure performance and determine areas of major growth potential Recommend and develop spa marketing strategies to drive sales, to include in-spa promotions, community activities and effective advertising techniques Manage sales budget Review financial data, prepare management reports and perform administrative functions Conduct sales audits and monitor sales data Oversee salon standards, conduct daily walk-through and initiate maintenance/repairs Perform opening and closing duties as needed Enforce safety and maintenance procedures and ensure that all equipment is in good, safe working condition Ensure compliance with all state licensing and health requirements Human Resources Management Assess the market for qualified technician and management candidates and direct effective recruiting techniques Effectively communicate job responsibilities, performance expectations, standards, and company policies/guidelines; provide counsel, formally as needed, to correct behaviors Various administrative functions including payroll and benefits JOB SUPERVISES: Management team and technical staff

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years of management experience in a high-volume retail, beauty/spa or service environment BS degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of formal education and experience Retail and product knowledge, with experience in developing promotional strategies Proven analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, to handle critical situations utilizing good judgment Regularly requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy when interacting with those encountered in the course of work, some of whom may be demanding, dissatisfied or upset Excellent planning and time management skills to effectively accomplish goals Exceptional written and verbal communication skills People-oriented with positive attitude, professional appearance, strong public relations and customer-service skills Team player with strong leadership and supervisory skills, effectively work with and manage diverse personalities Proven experience in recruiting and hiring productive (commissioned) staff members from the beauty industry Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends Some travel required In addition to direct compensation, The Red Door offers a competitive benefits package, including medical and 401(k).
