Job Description

As an Assistant General Manager at The Red Door, you will be a vital partner in the management of day-to-day activities of one of our iconic spa and salons, focusing on achieving sales goals and ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. We take care of people, and that includes our team! You will help drive employee engagement, manage performance, and perform functions associated with payroll, benefits, scheduling and recruitment, as well as employee relations. You will help ensure our team continues to provide impeccable guest service and expertise in their craft. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Spa Operations • Assist in managing the sales budget, as well as controllable expenses to achieve budgeted sales objectives • Conduct sales audits and monitor sales data • Oversee salon standards, conduct daily walk-through and initiate maintenance/repairs as needed; enforce safety and maintenance procedures and ensure all equipment is in good working order • Perform opening and closing duties as needed, prepare bank deposits • Assist in coordinating promotional events and technical and product training sessions • Inventory duties Human Resources Management • Effectively communicate job responsibilities, expectations, guest service standards, and company policies/guidelines • Maintain a positive employee relations climate, responding to employee-related issues promptly, fairly and consistently • Prepare and conduct performance reviews • Develop and motivate staff, maintains cooperation/teamwork within the department Human Resources Administration • Maintain employee personnel files with strict confidentiality • Place job postings and assist with recruiting events • Process all aspects of employee on-boarding and off-boarding, including new hire paperwork and terminations; coordinate New Hire Orientation • Act as liaison for employee benefit, leave of absence and payroll issues • Document work-related injuries, customer liability incidents, and OSHA logs • Assist in preparing work schedules and approving service schedule changes/requests for time off • Review and prepare payroll information working with Payroll Department SUPERVISES: Guest Service Manager, Retail Staff, Beauty Advisors* * Direct reports may vary depending on location

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: • 2+ years management experience in a fast-paced spa/salon, beauty or service environment • College-level or business-related course work • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently with little or no direction • Proven analytical and decision-making skills, using critical thinking and good judgment • Team player with strong leadership and supervisory skills, to effectively work with and manage diverse personalities • Regularly requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy when interacting with those encountered in the course of work, some of whom may be demanding, dissatisfied or upset • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills • Retail and product knowledge, with experience in developing promotional strategies • Time management skills, with ability to handle multiple priorities and constant deadlines • Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a satisfactory level.
